My dream...

So I've decided (with the help of a determined-to-make-money friend and hubby) I want to do my own scrapbooking line. It's a slim chance and a TON of work but one day I hope for this to be a place where people come to see projects made with my line.
So, I hope you'll forgive me and not get totally bored of me posting all my little projects. Hopefully, it's bound to get worse.. :)
Here are a few of my latest:

A gift for Ash in exchange for photoshoots:
I made these for Ash and Mel to write their thoughts about turning 30.

Lazy Sunday

Okay, so this is our first Sunday not having a calling and we ditched church. And while the boys are taking advantage of the warm weather flying kites, this is my lazy Sunday:

So behind...

I've been falling so far behind on my Project 365. But I don't want to stop, so I've been snapping pics like crazy trying desperately to catch up. (Okay, that's a bit dramatic...)

Here are a few from recent:
Karter in his 3D glasses that we chose not to recycle 'cause they're so awesome! And his purple bunny ears from Target. Yes, he chose purple.... *sigh*  :)
Zach's new bike that we got for $20 from the bike collective in Ogden. Rich is so good at finding great deals. Zach calls is his "hotwheel" bike!
The boys doing what boys do- wrestling.
After a long while, Karter finally got him! Zach's tough!
Today was not a nice warm day by any means, but the boys still wanted to go out and play sports (yay!!) and my little heater had to wear shorts...
Karter is surprisingly good at baseball!! He can catch and he has quite an arm!

Here are some recent projects I've done. I hope the people I gave the cards to don't ming sharing..

Alice and our wonderland

I've been so excited for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to come out!! We decided to take the boys to see it on Saturday (after seeing that Wes and Amber's little boy sat through it). Karter loved it (after watching the Disney version for the first time Friday night) but kept taking his 3D glasses off so things wouldn't "get" him. Zach took his off after about the first five minutes and I couldn't talk him into putting them back on.
Here's my short review: I liked the twist of continuing the story instead of just remaking it (Alice is 19 and goes back to Wonderland) but I felt that it was a bit dark for the story I know. I might feel that way because my kids were with me and I could tell parts of it bothered them and I know it's Tim Burton but both my kids like Nightmare Before Christmas.
Anyway, besides that I loved it! I love Johnny Depp in almost any role (especially goofy ones) and Helena Bonham Carter made an awesome Queen of Hearts. Our favorite line from the movie was "I need a pig here!" We've been saying for the last two days almost nonstop. Love it.
Silly me, I knew we were going to see 3D and for some stupid reason wore my glasses. Try wearing 3D glasses over regular glasses- not cool.
This is the movie Zachary's excited for:
We decided to make it a family day and go on a bike ride "in nature" as the boys said. I LOVE having the Weber river trail so close to our house. I also love that Dick likes to take the boys outside and be active.
We ride the 3 miles or so to the end of the trail for this:
Throwing rocks in the river is extremely entertaining for any boy (even the big ones). Good thing I had my book. :)
One more beautiful part of our nature ride:
Yep, that'd be the car junk yard. It's lovely.
This is the river gauntlet that we need to tube this summer. Oh yeah!

And now, some craftness:

Hardware Ranch and MORE sledding!

We went to Hardware Ranch on Saturday with the whole Merrill fam. I have to admit, I was not looking forward to getting up early to spend the whole day in the cold looking at elk but it's what Rich's dad wanted to do for his birthday so away we went. It was quite the drive up to Hyrum (near Logan) and then way, way up the canyon. We couldn't even get cell service- oh no!
We finally made it and loaded up on the wagon:
Zachary in his cool grinch hat
Cheesy Karter
My cute new baby neice Kenadee
It was a pretty nice day and would've been great but there was a cold breeze that was killing me.
The elk: the scenery was so pretty if you don't look at all the elk poop on the ground.
A big daddy
This one made me laugh. She just sat there chewing her cud and was looking at us like "is there something I can help you with?" I do believe she's the snob of the group.
There are something like 14,000 acres total on Hardware Ranch. Everything is paid for by ticket sales for the rides and elk tags from the hunters.
Sometimes we pretend we love each other

So, after the sleigh ride the plan was to go sledding but these silly kids couldn't even wait until we got to the sledding hill. Slippery coats and pants will do.
When we got to the sledding hill, I got all bundled up in Dick's snowpants since mine are MIA. They fit perfectly! Don't you think?
Sledding on boogie boards from Dick's DI finds is the greatest!
They went faster and farther than any sled I've ever seen (excluding the disk on Christmas Vacation).
Tubes are fun but you can't steer them and going backwards kinda freaks me out.
My little penguin
Me on the boogie board, it was kinda scary.
So Dick has been wanting to take the boys snowboarding and I've been kind of iffy about it, thinking they might not be able to get the hang of it. Boy was I wrong. Zach didn't get a chance to try it but Karter did and he did awesome!
My first time on a snowboard in almost 7 years! I was never very good to begin with and that is still the case. I'm a big chicken and can't control where I'm going but I had fun and got quite the workout!
Even though I was sort of dreading this little activity, we had SO much fun! It's quite the drive but I highly recommend this Saturday activity!

Sassafras challenge

WARNING: the following is another scrapbooking post.

I love Sassafras! They have some of my very favorite paper and I love to read the Sassafras blog (you may recall how excited I was when they featured one of my reviews...). Occasionally on the blog they have challenges. The current challenge (the first that I'm attempting) is to use up old Sassafras paper to make Valentines and make room for the new lines. I'm super excited for the new lines- they are so cute!

Anyhoo- here are my Valentines:

See how cute the papers are? The elephant stamps are also Sassafras- bet you can't guess who the elephant valentine is for...

About Me

My photo
My cute little fam consists of me, my partner in crime Dick, and our little monkeys: Karter and Zachary. My sweet, dedicated husband is trying to build my dream life for me. But for the time being, I have two full time jobs- mommyhood and a piece of cake desk job with an awesome boss. We stay super busy but have lots of fun in the process. I've become obsessed with scrapbooking lately. I've done it for years but never really had the time. I still don't but now I have my little scrap cubby that I don't have to clean up for dinner, etc. It makes things much easier and now I can scrap when I have a few minutes. Which is really not that often but I'm grateful for what I have.
