Alice and our wonderland

I've been so excited for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to come out!! We decided to take the boys to see it on Saturday (after seeing that Wes and Amber's little boy sat through it). Karter loved it (after watching the Disney version for the first time Friday night) but kept taking his 3D glasses off so things wouldn't "get" him. Zach took his off after about the first five minutes and I couldn't talk him into putting them back on.
Here's my short review: I liked the twist of continuing the story instead of just remaking it (Alice is 19 and goes back to Wonderland) but I felt that it was a bit dark for the story I know. I might feel that way because my kids were with me and I could tell parts of it bothered them and I know it's Tim Burton but both my kids like Nightmare Before Christmas.
Anyway, besides that I loved it! I love Johnny Depp in almost any role (especially goofy ones) and Helena Bonham Carter made an awesome Queen of Hearts. Our favorite line from the movie was "I need a pig here!" We've been saying for the last two days almost nonstop. Love it.
Silly me, I knew we were going to see 3D and for some stupid reason wore my glasses. Try wearing 3D glasses over regular glasses- not cool.
This is the movie Zachary's excited for:
We decided to make it a family day and go on a bike ride "in nature" as the boys said. I LOVE having the Weber river trail so close to our house. I also love that Dick likes to take the boys outside and be active.
We ride the 3 miles or so to the end of the trail for this:
Throwing rocks in the river is extremely entertaining for any boy (even the big ones). Good thing I had my book. :)
One more beautiful part of our nature ride:
Yep, that'd be the car junk yard. It's lovely.
This is the river gauntlet that we need to tube this summer. Oh yeah!

And now, some craftness:

  1. Fun! I think I'm gonna take X to see it. I think he'l like it, after all Josh and him play Darksiders together and I worry that's pretty dark. I can't wait till summer to go tubing on the river. YOU BEST INVITE ME FOR THAT! And we need to play baseball and Zach needs to help X learn to ride a bike. What a busy summer we shall have. Oh and I still want ya to do a scrap page of Freddie's 1 year.

  2. Yes, what a busy summer it will be. I swear X will learn in no time just watching the boys. I think kids learn best that way.
I actually just had those Freddie pics printed so expect it sometime soon...

  4. I went and saw it this weekend with my sister. I liked it. I decided to see it first before I let Jarron see it, I still haven't decided if I will let him or not. I did like how it was when she was older.
I love riding bikes with the family. It looked like fun. Do you think I can still ride a bike this summer when I will be as big as a hippo?
Love the scrapbook pages. I wish I could come up with creative pages like that. I usually steal my ideas from others! Oops, I wasn't suppose to admit that!

About Me

My photo
My cute little fam consists of me, my partner in crime Dick, and our little monkeys: Karter and Zachary. My sweet, dedicated husband is trying to build my dream life for me. But for the time being, I have two full time jobs- mommyhood and a piece of cake desk job with an awesome boss. We stay super busy but have lots of fun in the process. I've become obsessed with scrapbooking lately. I've done it for years but never really had the time. I still don't but now I have my little scrap cubby that I don't have to clean up for dinner, etc. It makes things much easier and now I can scrap when I have a few minutes. Which is really not that often but I'm grateful for what I have.
