Play date at the Stephenson's

We went to play at Liz's house last Friday night (since Ryan was working and Rich was "camping"). Liz was a little worried that my kids might get bored since all she had was little girl toys. Well, that was certainly not the case. I haven't seen my kids have as much fun in a long time as they had with Sarah's new kitchen set. They played chef for a long time and made Liz and I some delectable dishes. :)
Aside from that we also had a good time watching Enchanted and eating yummy pizza! And after Zachary spilled his regular cup on the table, he proceeded to take the lid off his sippy and dump orange soda all over Liz's couch! Arrrggghhh!!! That kid never fails to make a big mess wherever we go. Luckily, Liz is laid back and was cool about it even though I felt totally stupid (at least she played it cool- she may have told Ryan that we're not allowed to come over ever again when he got home). But we had lots of fun and don't they look adorable in the pink, polka dot chef's hat? :)

a V-Day first

So for the 6 years that we've been married, Rich and I have never done anything for Valentine's Day- not even gifts. Part of the reason is because we've always been sorta broke and partly because I too, kind of feel like it's a Hallmark holiday. So this year I made tentative plans with my sister who was going to be in town and Rich seemed down, but then our plans got cancelled due to the weather. So Rich and I took the kids out to eat and for ice cream on Friday and Rich gave me my Valentine's present- a gift certificate to Massage Envy! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE massages and haven't had one forever. What a nice surprise! I can't wait to use it, now I just need to find time and a sitter....

V-day party

I really do feel like I have one of the best group of girlfriends ever. I love that we plan fun things for just us girls and fun things for the kiddies. (I also love that Liz gets pictures up so fast!) Today we made the trek all the way out to Tooele to have a little Valentine party for the kids at Val's house. They had so much fun. I'm so glad that they all get along so well and play so good together. We could have let them play downstairs forever and they would've been just fine. But they did come up to pass out valentines and decorate the yummy cookies Ash made. And of course us girls like to just sit and chat and have fun with the camera and the timer. This picture of us on the couch was my favorite because I totally caught Ash off guard with the fish hook. I just love that we can get together and have so much fun!

I need some pants

So, I have a really hard time keeping both of my children in pants. They are growing like weeds and are really, really hard on clothes! I found some of Karter's old pants for Zachary that amazingly didn't have holes in the knees already, although they did have the little scissor clip at the bottom so that they would go over the shoes (remember doing that?). So yesterday when I got to the daycare the director stopped to let me know that they caught Zachary and his girlfriend ripping his pants a little. When I saw him, this is what I found:

The first thing he said when he saw me was "Sorry Mom, it was an accident."

oops... I forgot again!

I can't believe I said nothing has happened since my last blog! I totally forgot Deb's shower/Girls' night out! It was so much fun, I can't believe I forgot it! On Jan. 9th, we went to PF Chang's for dinner and then back to Deb's cute new house for some presents and goofing around. We all had so much fun just playing with the camera! People wouldn't believe from the pictures that we were all sober (we were).

Anyway, I had so much fun and I can't wait until the next one after all the babies have arrived. Except Liz's baby- it'll have to come with us!

I wish I could blog at work!

I don't get much time to goof on the internet. That's a big fat lie- I'm on the internet at work all day. What I meant was I don't get much time to play on Facebook and update my blog. The base blocks so many websites! Silly Air Force- I mean really! :) If I could get to these websites at work, I'd be on them all day and you'd all be so sick of me. So maybe it's a good thing.
Anyway, not much has happened since the last blog except that I got my living room back! I had a big giant half-couch in my tiny living room along with everything else for almost 4 weeks! It drove me crazy! It was the first thing I'd see when I walked in the door all covered with clutter and it almost sent Zachary to the ER again. Okay, that's not true either. Zachary almosts sends himself to the ER on a weekly basis. He's a clutz and a dare devil- NOT a good combination.
Kay, so that's about it. What a boring life. I'm working on a few projects, trying to get my creative juices flowing. I'll post pictures of them when I'm done and see what you think.

random

So Ashley was right- I kind of like this blogging thing. I've never been good at keeping a journal and it's nice to write thoughts and events down.

Right now I'm sitting on my living room couch playing on the computer. That's right- my living room couch. My house is completely torn apart and the couch is that close to the computer. My landlord decided he wanted to finish our apartment so he can collect full rent. It was supposed to be a quick and easy thing yesterday to just lay carpet in the playroom. But of course, it wasn't- I should've known. Everything takes 8 times as long with him as it would with a normal person. And a normal person he is not. He's a kook. So the house is still torn apart and we had to rush home from church so he can finish laying the carpet and I can stop going crazy from the mess!

But some good has come from this. I've got a great big box full of stuff for DI and I took my tree down yesterday and got all that stuff put away. That was about the only thing I could do yesterday since there was no room to manuever. My kids' room is packed with the entire playroom and all our camping gear. So yesterday Karter and his "dad", Zach "went camping". They rolled out their beds and roasted marshmallows (blocks stuck on the end of some hot wheel track). They crack me up.

We went to baby Fred's blessing today. I love that kid- he is the cutest, sweetest thing ever. I seriously miss him when I leave. But I had fun hanging out with all the friends and I'm so excited to meet baby June! And Benjamin/Trevor/Liam?

Then we had to go to church again. Zachary got to go to Sunbeams for the first time. He looked so cute sitting there trying to figure out what was going on. We got a new class too, which I love already. Such cute kids and my challenge from our last class is no longer an issue for me. He was my test for 2008. And Edward Cullen came to visit sharing time! Yeah, a big huge cutout of that ugly kid was staring at me from the back of the room- creepy. Rich thought maybe we'd be learning about eternal life (nerd) but it ended up being that he (the cutout, not Eddie) wasn't real and didn't have a spirit. But all the girls were yelling out "he's a vampire". Isn't it funny what a big deal Twilight has become?

Anyway, I'm gonna go crank up the heat and curl up with a blanket. It's freezing in here! Although, I'm sure it doesn't compare with Deb's house....

About Me

My photo
My cute little fam consists of me, my partner in crime Dick, and our little monkeys: Karter and Zachary. My sweet, dedicated husband is trying to build my dream life for me. But for the time being, I have two full time jobs- mommyhood and a piece of cake desk job with an awesome boss. We stay super busy but have lots of fun in the process. I've become obsessed with scrapbooking lately. I've done it for years but never really had the time. I still don't but now I have my little scrap cubby that I don't have to clean up for dinner, etc. It makes things much easier and now I can scrap when I have a few minutes. Which is really not that often but I'm grateful for what I have.
